My pros and cons for being a DOC Ranger is
Pros:
- Protecting the native animals and plants from New Zealand as there is a big amount of native animals and plants that is in danger of extinct. The animals and plants of New Zealand is very important to me.
- Protecting historic sites as these teach us allot about New Zealand history.
- Sharing my information and what i have learned about the area i work in with other people.
Cons:
- Maintaining or cleaning the toilets as this can be disgusting.
- Having to be outside in the rain sometimes.
- Enforcing the by laws of marine life as this can be dangerous because you don't know who you will have to do this to.
Hi Joslyne,
ReplyDeleteMe again :)
You've come up with some great points, both for and against becoming a DOC Ranger. I really like how you've considered an educational element - sharing the things you learn would be an extremely rewarding part of the job. A friend of mine used to work for DOC and he loved it. He always had wonderful stories to tell about the places he'd been and things he'd done. It's fantastic to hear how passionate you are about protecting our native wildlife. What animals would you most like to work with?
Well done on another great post, Joslyne. Keep it up! :)
Mikey
